How to Apply Online for UGC NET – JRF & Lecturership Test

University Grant Commission (UGC) conducts the National Eligibility Test (NET) for award of scholarship for pursuing Ph.D. courses and eligibility for appointment of lecturers in University & Colleges. This test is knows as National Eligibility Test for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lecturership. Candidates applying for this test must have secured at least 55% marks in Post Graduate course in relevant discipline. Appearing candidates can also apply subject to fulfilling the other conditions. There is no age limit for Lecturership test while for JRF the maximum age limit is 28 years.
Interested and eligible candidates need to apply online. Online Registration for NET is to be done by visiting the official website i.e. ucgnetonline.in. This test is conducted twice an year in the month of June & December. Application for June & December examinations are invited in the month of April & October respectively.
Applicant is required to appear in entrance test at the centre chosen at the time of online registration. List of Examination Centres is given in the advertisement details. Candidates while filling up the application form must fill up the form carefully. Ensure that Examination Centre, Subject Code, Name & Particulars are filled correctly. After submission of Online Application, candidates are required to take print out of application form, hall ticket etc. and it is to be sent to the Registrar/ Exam Co-Ordinate of the university where applicant wish to appear in the exam.
From June 2012, test will be objective type only. Teaching Aptitude and Subject related papers will be objective type. The new scheme of examination has dispensed with the descriptive paper, this will help in quick evaluation of papers and results will be declared soon after conducting the examination.
Before proceeding for the online registration, candidates are required to register and create profile on the website by entering the Email ID & Candidates Name. After submission of this information, candidate swill receive password & User Name. Candidate has to login using this ID & Password and then register online.
Fee for the test can be paid either online or through bank. Candidates can generate online challan form for depositing the exam fee. Detailed instructions for submission of online application is available on the website. Uploading the Scanned Photo must be in accordance with instructions. Syllabus, Instructions, Examination Pattern, Previous Year Question Papers & Answer Key etc. can be downloaded from the official website UGC.

University Grant Commission has invited the online application for National Eligibility Test (NET) for JRF and Lecturership. Examination will be held on 29 December 2013. After submission of online application, candidates are required to send the printout of application form in two copies, and attendance sheet and admit card in one copy to the examination centre.
